Interview 5/4/22
Why are interviews important to make a successful documentary?
- Authenticity- It gives you the ability to acquire information from an expert or personal opinion of someone
- Storytelling- someone recounting their experience for more engaging
- Variety- it will provide additional interest/content in the documentary
- Revelation- you are more likely to find out an unknown fact
Approach Email
Dear madam,
I am a film and media production college student and I am doing a documentary on your organisation. I would like to mainly focus on forensics; how the forensics in your organisation works and how you come to find the war dead and the process behind it.
I hope to bring more of an awareness to the organisation by using this documentary as an opportunity to reach those of a younger generation. It would be amazing if I could interview you as part of the documentary if you are free.
Looking forward to hearing from you
Kind regards,
Sophie Moore
Here are some examples of emails I have sent
18/5/22

This email was to a university lecturer who studies film history and i thought it would have been a good idea to have someone who know the history of film to give some off her knowledge to the topic but she didn't get back to me to schedule anything so I emailed someone on instgram who's profile is based around Golden Age of Hollywood films. The image below is the email I sent to her unfortunatley she didn't reply so I had to go to plan B and find people I know who have a passion for old hollywood films.
